Comprehensive ​Pageant Coaching for Miss, Ms, and Mrs

Successfully competing in pageantry requires a solid game plan, coaching with an experienced mentor, and consistent practice.  My goals are to support you as you prepare for competition, to reveal your unique inner and outer beauty, and to ensure that you shine your brightest for the judges...and yourself!  

What is the most important element you must define as a contestant?  Your personal BRAND!

Your brand is your story. Your "why".  It's what you are passionate about, and what drives you.

The goals you wish to achieve and your unique point of view as a titleholder are the building blocks of your personal brand.  Your biography, appearance, and wardrobe are supporting factors in your personal branding.   These elements should work together to create a beautiful and consistent presentation of you and your brand. 

As a former executive in the fashion retail industry, I have 24 years of experience working as a fashion and beauty buyer for some of the most recognized brands in the world, including Victoria's Secret, Justice, and The Limited.  I understand the importance of a well-crafted brand, and believe that presenting a clearly defined brand as a pageant contestant will elevate both your performance and your experience as a competitor.

New Contestant Overview - $50

For those who are new to pageantry, or who are competing for the first time as a Ms or Mrs.

Contestant Biography - $75

Your contestant bio is often the first impression you will make on the judges.  Creating strategic content will aid in setting the tone and direction of your interview.​

  • Two 30 minute phone calls

Spray Tanning - $25 - $40

On location spray tanning.  A lighter, more natural tan will be used prior to judges' interview, while a darker shade will be used for stage competition.

  • ​​One tanning application $25 

  • Two tanning applications $40​

Spray tanning package is applicable to Ohio and Colorado Mrs. America state pageants.  Packages and pricing for other pageants or states available upon request.

Interview Package (3 Sessions)- $180

In our 3 sessions together, we will delve into your goals as a competitor to polish your interview strategy. Recommended for those who already have a well-crafted bio and interview strategy.

  • Three 60 minute sessions, either via phone call or in-person (in Central Ohio)

  • Agenda for each session will be provided, along with at-home prep suggestions

  • Agendas include my personal tips on how to approach your interview and the importance of key points and stories

  • ​Mock Interview Practice

Gown & Wardrobe Styling - $125

Your pageant wardrobe should reflect your authentic personal style and reinforce your brand as a contestant.  From your interview outfit to your evening gown, your clothing and accessories speak volumes! 

  • One gown shopping trip in Ohio to try on various styles, establish the best options for your body type and personal style, and perhaps find "The One"!

  • Strategy for pageant weekend wardrobe, including interview outfit

  • Advice for head to toe accessorizing

  • Unlimited review and feedback of wardrobe photos

Custom Skincare - $500

As an advanced esthetician specializing in performance skincare, I will create a customized treatment plan to reveal your most beautiful skin.

  • Six months

  • One treatment per month

  • Based on your individual needs, treatment may include:

    • ​​Chemical Peels

    • Microdermabrasion

    • Dermaplaning

    • Specialty Masks

  • ​All monthly treatments are accompanied by a relaxation facial​​

  • Skincare services based in Johnstown, Ohio

Interview Package (5 Sessions)- $300

In our 5 sessions together, we will delve into your goals as a competitor and craft an interview and biography strategy that is uniquely yours!

  • Five 60 minute sessions, either via phone call or in-person (in Central Ohio)

  • Agenda for each session will be provided, along with at-home prep suggestions

  • Agendas include my personal tips on how to approach your interview, the importance of key points and stories, and crafting a 30-second "commercial" or introduction

  • 5 session package includes contestant biography preparation to support your interview strategy

  • My attendance at your photo shoot anywhere in Ohio. (Out of state for an additional fee)

  • Support in selection of final images

​​Elexis Ryan is the owner and founder of SHINE.  She created SHINE based on her belief that all women are born to shine brightly, and they hold within them the power to transform into their best and most beautiful selves.  SHINE is the culmination of a lifetime of passions and experiences that led to the creation of a unique business whose mission is to make women look and feel beautiful, cared for, and glowing from within.

 

From Science to Skincare​

Elexis's early love of science has evolved into a keen interest in the science of skin care, and how to utilize ingredients and technology to reveal her clients' most radiant skin.  As a college freshman, she was a national finalist in the NASA Space Science Student Involvement Program, where she presented her proposal for an experiment to measure muscle atrophy in astronauts to a team of educators and NASA scientists. She was interviewed and appeared on CNN's Science and Technology Week as a result, and was published in a book for educators focused on encouraging students to connect with the sciences through contests and competitions. She remains fascinated by the physiology of the body, and loves to educate her clients on how to make informed decisions about their skin care.

 

The Magic of Makeup

When your father and grandmother are both artists, you naturally inherit artistic genes! Elexis considers makeup an art form as well as a creative collaboration between client and artist.  She is experienced with natural, bridal, photographic, and stage makeup, and also offers individual and group makeup lessons.  She has worked as a freelance artist for Benefit Cosmetics, and has been the makeup artist for several competitors at the Mrs. America National Preliminary and Final Pageants.

 

Beauty Pageants and Branding

As a little girl, Elexis fell in love with beauty pageants, and staged elaborate "Miss Universe" pageants with her sister and neighborhood friends using Barbies as the contestants. Her first experience as a titleholder was as a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Festival Queen's Court, where the court served as ceremonial escorts for the enshrinees during the induction festivities in Canton, Ohio.  She put her pageant career on the back burner until she decided to compete for the title of Mrs. Ohio America as a married woman.  After 4 years of competition, she won the pageant in 2017 and went on to compete at the Mrs. America National Pageant in Las Vegas. In addition to winning the Ohio crown, she was a back to back winner of two Best in Interview and Best in Evening Gown awards.  

 

Elexis has had the privilege of judging many local, state, and national pageants, including:

  • National American Miss (NAM) Nationals

  • Multiple Mrs. America state pageants

  • American Royal Beauties Nationals

 

Prior to devoting her career to esthetics, Elexis spent nearly 24 years in the corporate offices of some of the most well-known brands in the world, including Victoria's Secret, The Limited, and CO Bigelow.  In addition to finance and store operations roles, she spent several years as an executive in merchandising and planning positions with Victoria's Secret, which allowed for frequent travel to New York City and Verona, Italy.  (She admits to missing her favorite pizza and gelato spots.)  Elexis has translated her experience in working with these well-defined brands into a coaching method that helps pageant competitors establish their own unique and authentic point of view in all areas of competition. 

 

Life is Beautiful

Elexis Ryan graduated from the Spa Schools Group and is a licensed Advanced Esthetician in the state of Ohio, with certifications in dermaplaning, airbrush makeup, and spray tanning.   She also holds a BA in Business Finance from Mount Union College, where she was a Varsity Football Cheerleader, Class Vice-President, and Finance VP of her sorority.  She has been married for over 10 years to Mike, and they live on a beautiful 5 acre mini-farm in Central Ohio with their two rescue horses, chickens, and lots and lots of makeup.
